Dun, dun, dunnnnnnnnn! The last day for music had arrived, but I had pushed my body to the limit the night prior. Oddly enough, I was unable to ever sleep in during this trip. I was too excited to sleep. I had the most tastiest lunch at Torchy’s Tacos. I loved the chips & spicy queso. (San Francisco needs to have this). I did “politics” & tried the democrat & the republican along with 2 bottles of coke with cane sugar. Can we say yum?
The day was such a struggle. I attempted to shop, but I could not move anymore so I went back to the hotel & had a TV day. Trust me, it was well worth it to rest & recover. Thank you Hulu! 30-Rock, Parks & Recreation, Bob’s Burgers, etc etc… I “awesome sauce” you!
I ended the night with a big bang. I had dinner at Roaring Fork. The butter fish I had eaten was delightful. Then it was off to see PO PO at a bar called Friends. The sound at this venue was really unfortunate, I could barely hear them at all. It was bum-city.
But this was all forgiven at Barcelona which my most favorite venue & night of the entire trip. The sound was the best & the line up was dope. This included: Van Rivers, SBTRKT, Mount Kimbie & the finale, Jamie xx. I couldn’t last until the very end of Jamie’s set with an early flight in the morning, so I left & ate a really good farewell jalapeno & cheddar sausage at a Big Tex Sausage cart & passed out in the room.
This trip was definitely a wild experience. I have a lot of unforgettable memories. I did wish that I had a better device for documentation, but it’s A-O-K, I still had a blast. I am back in San Francisco now in the comforts of my own home & man it feels really good.
