Along with the rest of the weekend in Palm Springs came more libating, swimming, eating, spa time, and just plain relaxing. Put all those things on repeat, and you have our trip in a nutshell!
The Parker had “Secret Garden”-esque grounds that were fun to explore when we weren’t trying to dodge the heat. Hidden among the hedges are lots of little alcoves for sitting around a firepit or hanging out in the hammocks.
A trip to Palm Springs wouldn’t be complete without giant goblets of bloody mary! Pinocchio’s is a favorite brunch spot for locals and tourists alike, with $3.99 bottomless champagne! We opted for the much safer (and non-bottomless) bloody marys since we didn’t want to sleep the rest of our Saturday away.
After a few hours of pampering and a quick dip in the pool, we decided to head over to the Ace Hotel for some dinner and to check out a recommended pool party. Failing to make a good impression on people there, we stumbled back to our hotel for some late-night pool time and drunken oopsies.
The next day, feeling more refreshed than we deserved, we packed up and headed back towards home after stopping for some amazing fish tacos at Shanghai Red (seriously, go eat the fish tacos there). On the way, we stopped by the Cabazon outlets, and of course, the obligatory dinosaur park. There, Vy had her very first encounter with T. Rex and the Dino Formerly Known as the Brontosaurus (a.k.a. the Apatosaurus).
And a trip out east wouldn’t be complete without a stop a mere 20 minutes from home at the Donut Man in Glendora. We picked up some of his delicious and seasonal peach donuts (strawberry donuts are in season earlier in the year). A perfect sweet treat to end our perfect mini-vacation.
Can’t wait until the next one!
